Die Stage and Markers

Value and Population

Reported by: Tom Miller

Comments: FS-503.  A recent re-examination of the variety indicates that the final punch was inverted over the initial horizontal punch.  Notice the flat spot on the ball of the upper serif.  Normally it is located in the lower position rather than the upper.  This is one of only two known examples where the final mintmark was in an uncorrected position.  See Uncorrected Inverted RPMs.
