Spiked Head Die Crack

This 1909 VDB cent exhibits a die crack which spikes from the head to the rim through the E of WE. It did not take long for die errors to show up on the new Lincoln cent. This die error type was another one which was catalogued and widely collected in the 1960s. |

These spiked head die errors are still with us today. This is a 2000 cent which shows a nice die crack from the head to the rim. |
